What is Armed Forces Day?

​

Armed Forces Day is a national day of celebration for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving troops to Service families, veterans and cadets. Showing support for the Armed Forces provides a much valued morale boost for the troops and their families.

Event information

We anticipate between 6,000 and 12,000 attendees for a military arena style show featuring:

• Parade of up to 25 military vehicles and Veterans led by Marching Pipers
• Marching Bands & Dancers
• Battle of Britain Flypast
• Public Displays
• Living History Groups
• Re-enactments
• Trade Stands
• Local Radio Coverage

With support from Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council and Penistone Town Council, this ambitious event has been really well received right across the Yorkshire region. With the support of local and regional businesses, Armed Forces Day at Penistone Showground 2022 will be one to be remembered!
